About Us

Trade Channel (Pty) Ltd is a 100% citizen owned company, which was established by Ambrose
Masole, initially as a sole proprietor and subsequently registered as a Company in 1991. The
current directors are Mr. Ambrose Masole and Mrs. Khumo Masole, both are citizens of
Botswana. The directors are backed up by a highly trained technical sales staff.

Initially Trade Channel concentrated on the supply of computer consumables and software. The scope of the business has since increased to being a fully-fledged office equipment supplier. We are members of BOCCIM and COBIT (Citizen owned Businesses in Information and Technology). Our average turn over is five million pula (P5 000 000.00) and we constantly carry one hundred and fifty thousand pula (P150 000.00) worth of spares and consumables for all our existing machines.

SUPPLIERS

The Company’s Managing Director has a vast knowledge and experience of office equipment and stationery sales, he has-been in the field since the early 1980s and this has brought him in contact with major office equipment suppliers such as KYOCERA MITA, Riso, Toshiba, Sharp, Philips, Mecer, HP, Jensen Electronics(Casio), Samsung, Sanyo and Fuji. Of these, KYOCERA MITA was selected to be our main supplier, thus a franchise agreement was entered into with them. Mita (now known as KYOCERA MITA) is one of the biggest photocopier, facsimile and printer manufacturers to come out of Japan, and they are one of the world leaders in this industry.

SALES, SERVICE, SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE

Trade Channel has built up a knowledgeable sales team which provides clients with adequate information on products they want to purchase. The team takes serious consideration of the investment that the client seeks to make and thus all relevant information is made available and this empowers the client to make informed decision on their investment. The sales team also provides on-site demonstrations on the use of the equipment prior to a sale, and this greatly benefits the client.

Supporting the sales team is an equally skilled technical team. The team consists of highly skilled and experienced staff members, with recognized relevant qualifications gained from appropriate technical institutions and from in house training by our main supplier.

As a company, Trade Channel has a strong interest in its staff development, and we ensure that they attend shows and courses to update their product knowledge and keep up with the new developments in the field.

COMPANY STRUCTURE

The Company is divided into three key functions/departments: Marketing and Sales, Finance and Administration and Technical Department. And these are headed by the company’s three key personnel, made up two directors/shareholders and a technical manager.

Marketing and Sales Department – Ambrose Masole

Mr. Ambrose Masole who is the founding owner and Managing Director, is responsible for all the marketing and selling of the products. He is the most appropriate person for this function since he knows both the KYOCERA MITA and Computer products and the market very well. Mr. Masole has been in the office equipment field over 20 years as sales and marketing person and his experience in this regard is very extensive.

Finance and Administration Department - Matenge Matenge

Mr. Matenge has recently joined Trade Channel to head the Finance and Administration department. He comes from an Accounting, finance and administration environment, he has held positions of auditor, accountant, financial controller and lastly that of Finance and Administration Manager for one of the large motor dealers in Botswana, Naledi Motors. He as a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and various certificates in finance and administration courses. He brings to the company over twenty years experience in his field.

 

Technical Department – Bernard Keeble

Trade Channel has built up a knowledgeable skilled Technical Team headed by Bernard Keeble, an expatriate with extensive experience in office automation equipment, having worked for Gestener and Mita in South Africa for over twenty years. He has undergone training on all the technical courses related to office equipments, especially copiers, faxes and printers and has immense experience in the area of installations, servicing and repairing of office equipment (inclusive of computers), While working for Trade Channel, he built good relationship with Mita customers here in Botswana and we are confident that our customers will continue to enjoy his good quality service.

 

OPERATIONS

Trade Channel is currently based at Plot 6384, Noko Road, Broadhurst Industrial in Gaborone, and has a branch in Francistown, that services the Central and Northern region.

 

CLIENTELE

As a company, Trade Channel has established a sound clientele base, which includes major corporations, parastatals, educational institutions and government departments.
